Job Responsibilities
The challenges that our customers face are unique and complex–not something that any off-the-shelf product will easily fit. Your job will be to understand that customer’s needs, assess how Tego can best solve their problems, then design and build the required solution. You will work in tandem with the rest of our software engineers in addition to our hardware engineering, marketing, sales, and operations teams.
You will be leading the development of the primary layer of solution architecture. This layer is responsible for providing operational teams with live input from edge devices along with powerful analytical tools.

This will be a customer-facing role and requires excellent communication skills. You will interact directly with customers, interfacing with them on behalf of the Tego engineering team. You will then have to effectively communicate the customers’ needs back to the Tego engineering team.
This is a new role and a portion of the business that we intend to expand. This will be an opportunity to expand both your technical expertise (software development, database management, AI, etc.) and communication skills, working with both customer personnel at multiple levels and Tego internal teams.
Core Responsibilities:
- Engage directly with customer stakeholders in the industry to learn about the IoT domain and provide solutions for their production and business challenges.
- Collaborate with fellow engineers to develop/maintain applications for all mobile platforms utilizing cross platform architecture.
- Continue to shape the team’s product offerings by designing and implementing cloud-based systems to manage mobile devices and data streams.
- Help grow the team’s capabilities by designing and implementing data processing runtime for multi-tenant scenarios with a focus on tenant isolation, security, throttling, and actionable health metrics for customers via monitoring APIs.
- Design and implement accurate and actionable monitoring, alerting, and tooling data processing pipelines to help maintain SLAs with minimal efforts.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship: This role will require the ability to visit customer sites and access internal customer systems. Many of our current customers require US passports for on-site and system access.
- This role is based at our Waltham, MA office and requires daily, in-person, in-office collaboration with team members, customers, and partners.
- A highly analytical approach and eagerness to tackle complex technical problems with data structures, systems, and automation devices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years of previous work experience as a software engineer
- Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design patterns.
- BS or MS degree in computer science or related.
- Strong technical aptitude coupled with a demonstrated ability to adapt to and learn about recent technologies.
- Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication.
- Experience writing and debugging asynchronous and multi-threaded code.
- Experience developing distributed data processing pipelines.
- Experience developing IaaS / PaaS services for a Cloud Platform.
- Experience authoring performance / stress tests, analyzing the results, and identifying potential bottlenecks.
- Knowledge of .NET, C# and associated toolsets / frameworks.
- Experience using web-based technologies (ASP.NET, JavaScript, CSS, VueJS).
- Experience developing enterprise software using MVC, MVVM, or MVP framework.
- Relational database experience (SQL).
- Non-relational database experience (MongoDB).
