Team Tego

Meet the Team that Powers Tego

Timothy Butler

CEO & Founder

Timothy Butler

CEO & Founder

Prior to Tego, I was a CEO who led the purchase of enterprise SW from Digital Equipment Corporation for global project management and teams. When I founded Tego it was with the explicit intent to build something truly transformative. I’ve had the privilege of defining our strategic vision and nurturing crucial customer relationships. I am most proud of TegoHub, the company’s innovative digital transformation platform, which uniquely unifies backend data with the real-time flow of people, parts, and processes, giving operations a clear and comprehensive view of their business.

My ongoing passion is fueled by the incredible people I collaborate with daily—our customers, partners, and, most importantly, our employees. What folks who work with us know is that integrity is at the core of Tego; our team is committed to doing the job right, going above and beyond to deliver real solutions for every customer.

Su Ahmad

Co-Founder & Customer Specialist

Drawing on years of experience doing international sales and business development in large manufacturing industries, I’ve developed a deep understanding of complex solution sales. My engineering background allows me to connect technical capabilities with tangible business benefits, which is a key part of my role as a Customer Specialist. I’m always focused on building strong relationships and ensuring our customers achieve success.

I’ve been fortunate to lead the market presence for our flyable parts solution, which is now recognized as the industry leader and trusted by over 100 aviation companies. This success is a direct result of our exceptional Engineering team’s ability to design and deliver innovative solutions, and I’ve been proud to collaborate with them to bring this product to market.

Looking ahead, I am excited about Tego’s expansion into new manufacturing sectors and the opportunity to help customers leverage the full potential of our data-rich system. I believe this platform is perfectly suited to power a new generation of AI-based solutions

A lesser-known fact about me: My first career was as a university professor. In that role, I learned the importance of guiding and supporting others. Today, that same principle drives my work. At Tego, we help organizations ensure their employees feel empowered by technology, not overwhelmed by it. Our goal is to make sure your team has the information, tools and confidence they need to succeed.

Chief Technical Officer

After earning my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, where I researched energy harvesting for passive RFID chips, I led the development of TegoChip’s energy-harvesting circuits. Seeing this technology turned product and deployed on millions of airplane parts to solve real-world challenges has been a significant professional milestone.

As the Head of Tego’s Engineering team, I plan and oversee the technology execution of our solution, from system architecture to critical hardware and software decisions. Additionally, I contribute to pre-sales activities, ensuring that the technology underpinning various solution proposals aligns with the client requirements.

I am passionate about empowering clients to integrate auto-ID and digitization into their operations. This first step in the digital transformative journey enables them to develop robust data strategies, which will ultimately facilitate the use of AI for smarter decisions and process optimizations. I have learned that even the best product needs close customer collaboration to succeed in their unique environment. That’s why I advocate for forward-deployed engineers; they help clients adapt and get the most value from technology. A hands-on, ownership-driven approach is crucial for successful implementations.

Outside of my professional life, I am an enthusiastic kitesurfer and volleyball player. These activities not only contribute to my physical well-being but also reinforce essential teamwork and leadership skills, which directly enhance my contributions at Tego.

VP Software

Before Tego, I implemented the Flyable Parts solution for ATA Spec 2000, Ch 9-5 compliance within Airbus’s Value Chain Visibility division. This gave me a strong foundation in RFID systems and real-world asset visibility. It also directly aligned with Tego’s flagship products and provided me a head start in one of my first endeavors as a Tego employee. That was the transformation of TegoView, initially an aerospace-specific product for Spec 2000 compliance into a flexible platform supporting diverse industries like manufacturing, logistics, inventory management, and hospital systems. This reengineering unlocked new operational value across multiple sectors.

As VP of Software at Tego, I direct the end-to-end development and evolution of all software products, bridging strategy and execution. I manage and oversee all aspects of our software — from product design and architecture to coding, deployment, and support. Our team translates customer, marketing, and sales feedback into scalable features by guiding development through sprints, and staying hands-on with both planning and implementation This full-spectrum ownership is both a responsibility and a privilege, driven by my passion for building solutions that solve real problems.

It’s been exciting to witness our product’s evolution over the past years. We’ve broadened its use cases beyond existing customers, introducing powerful new features that enhance configurability and efficiency for entirely new industries and workflows. This momentum is mirrored in our team’s growth and strengthening, as we continue to expand to meet increasing demand.

Outside of work, I enjoy experimenting in the kitchen and exploring with my child. Staying connected with friends and family is also important. At work, I foster a lighthearted atmosphere, bringing creativity, curiosity, and joy to everything from refining a recipe to rolling out a release.
